Hello! I'm Tammy

Licensed Therapist

Haven’t we all wondered at some point, “What went wrong…Why me…How on Earth did I get here?” A difficult child or teen, a sick loved one, a relationship on the rocks, and unexpected job termination, a death, a divorce… these are just some of the things that can completely turn our world upside down and put us into a tailspin. Sometimes we are able to navigate through life’s struggles with strength and perseverance, other times we just need help.

My Experience: Life experience is an important asset when counseling others, and I have plenty to draw from. At the age of 55, I have experienced the pain of divorce, both in childhood and as an adult. I have helped family members and friends who have experienced struggles associated with depression, anxiety, dependency, infidelity, divorce, parenting, step parenting and blended family issues. From a very early age, I had a yearning to understand human behavior and to grow through each experience.

My Education: I completed my Masters in Psychology at Chapman University, and am currently providing counseling support in a private practice in Irvine, Ca. My personal experience in helping others through such problems has given me a deep understanding and insight into the emotions that accompany them, and my educational and clinical experience has enabled me to put theory to work and help people in need.

Hi, I'm Jan Covyeau

M.A., AMFT

I am a Registered Associate with an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the College of Psychology and Counseling at Hope International University. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in the corporate world over 25 years in the areas of education, sales, finance and most recently adoption. I discovered my passion for helping others in my role of Adoption Adviser in the emotionally charged adoption process. It is this passion and my own life challenges, healing and personal growth that served as the catalyst in my pursuit of becoming a therapist.

Entering this field later in life provided me with invaluable personal experiences which have played a key part in helping to better understand my clients and many of the issues they face. I have found my education and experience to be most effective in working with individuals, adolescents and couples that are facing various issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma or relational difficulties.

I also enjoy working with couples and families who are struggling in their relationships. I incorporate the practice of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a highly effective method for healing relationships. When working with clients, we look at patterns in the relationship and take steps to create a more secure bond and develop more trust to move the relationship in a healthier, more positive direction.

I recognize it takes courage and vulnerability to sit with a perfect stranger and share details about your life, relationships and struggles. I am a firm believer in that there is no issue or setback that is too large to overcome. Therapy is a gift you give yourself. It can truly transform your life and provide you with the opportunity to become your best self.

Hi I'm Lisa Rezner

M.S., AMFT

I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education and achieved my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Hope International University.  I am a registered associate marriage and family therapist who is passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families. My life experiences and educational training have paved the way for me to step into the world of therapy, and I thoroughly enjoy ministering to others in need.

Being married over 30 years and raising 4 children has taught me many life lessons about marriage and family.  I work with couples who are trying to get their connection back when life’s challenges have taken their toll.   I also strive  to improve family relationships by helping parents to have a better understanding of the world children, teenagers and young adults live in today.

When working with couples and families I incorporate the practice of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a highly effective method for healing relationships. EFT is a relatively short-term form of therapy that focuses on adult relationships and attachment bonding. Research has shown that 70-75% of couples and families who participate in EFT become closer and more intimate in their relationships, and 90% show significant improvements (For more information on EFT, please click on this websites couples counseling tab under services).

It is so important that you connect with your therapist.  Feeling accepted and comfortable will help you take the steps towards improving the areas of your life that you may be struggling with.  I welcome you to call me to see if I would be the right fit for you.
